Organizing that many people is quite the skill that we have perfected over the years and is key to being able to manage time as a wedding photographer. First looks are a great option for many reasons but also it can give you time to get the majority of the portraits done so that after the ceremony the bride and groom can just enjoy the party! After the first look the whole family and bridal party had arrived so we were able to direct and organize them in groups to take care of family grouping photos after we took some time doing the couples wedding portraits. We place the groom at one end of a wooden bridge and had him wait thier for his bride to take his breath away. When we arrived we met with the groom and found the perfect place for their first look. We all met at the near-by Hurd Park in Dover NJ which was a quick drive from where she was getting ready. The bride and groom had requested at our pre-wedding consultation that they do a first look and family and wedding party portraits before going to the wedding venue as she wanted them done outside.

Her bride's maid and maid-of-honor was her sister and they were able the share a sweet moment next to a framed black and white photo of who I believe was her grandparents wedding years ago, which was super cool to capture. We had the chance to take some really nice photos of the bride getting ready, putting on her dress and her mother helping her arrange the bride-to-be's vail. Her bridesmaid, mother and grandmother were all their finishing the last details to get ready for the wedding. Mainly because these newly weds were so fun to works with but also their wedding party and family and friends were just as great! We arrived at the brides childhood home to take bridal portraits.
